What we do
Welcome to Mental Health and Me! Here, we build on our missions by turning passion into action. While our homepage outlines our commitment to reducing stigma and promoting inclusivity, this is how we bring that mission to life.
We’ve started working with schools to deliver talks and facilitate discussions around mental health to both the staff and students. We aim to provide direct support by offering tools, resources such as fidget toys and shared understanding all through lived experience. We are expanding this work into other educational settings, NHS services, the police and other community and government organisations. By opening up honest conversations in these spaces, we aim to reduce stigma, raise awareness, better support and promote more compassionate approaches to mental health.
We are developing new ways to support individuals in both inpatient and outpatient settings. One of our upcoming projects involves creating and delivering ward care boxes for people on psychiatric and dementia wards. These boxes are designed to provide comfort, reduce feelings of isolation and promote wellbeing during a difficult time.
Our workshops will combine creativity with education, offering safe spaces where individuals can express themselves, build confidence, and take part in meaningful activities. One example includes bracelet-making sessions that bring people together while also helping to raise funds for our ongoing work. We are also working to provide resources such as fidget toys, art supplies and bean bags for outpatient mental health services and educational environments, helping to create spaces that are comfortable and supportive.
Our outreach includes both community engagement and digital campaigns. In 2024, Holly was invited to Luton Town Football Club’s training ground where she took part in a digital campaign to raise awareness. She shared parts of her story and this was published by Luton Town on World Mental Health Day. This amazing opportunity helped shine a light on mental health through an open and honest conversation with a wider audience.
This kind of work is just the beginning. We are dedicated to continuing this effort and keeping mental health firmly on the public agenda.
At the heart of Mental Health and Me is the belief that no one should ever feel alone in their mental health journey. We are here to make support not just available, but personal, compassionate and grounded in real experience.
